IMPORT MASTER |
Harness the power of your automated office
with the MAS 90 Import Master module. Using Import
Master, you can channel information from virtually any
source into MAS 90.Quickly and easily import data in
virtually any file format, including ASCII, dBASE™,
DIF™, Microsoft® Excel® and Lotus® 1-2-3®, into
any MAS 90 data file. Whether you need to transfer budget
information stored in a Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet, update
your price list from the manufacturers price file
or convert your present accounting data into the MAS 90
format, make the conversion process painless and
economical. Its easy to use Import Master to bridge
the gap between you and the information you need.Import
Master features the same award-winning level of usability
youve come to expect from every MAS 90 module.
Define custom import functions to perform simple data
replacements or apply complex mathematical formulas when
calculating values during the import process. With the
freedom to create import functions, modify them at any
time and verify their accuracy before MAS 90 files are
updated, you have full control over the information you
wish to import. |

FEATURES
Custom Import Functions
|
Import functions can
be customized to accommodate virtually all data files
used by MAS 90 modules. Simply select the data file and
data to be imported; once defined, custom functions can
be used at any time. Imports can be run from the
operating system, allowing users to run imports from a
batch or script file. |
Data Dictionary
|
Quick access to all
MAS 90 data file and item information is provided by the
Data Dictionary. In addition, data files and items are
assigned descriptive names for easy recognition. |
Import File Types
|
Import data from this
comprehensive collection of file types: ASCII text files,
dBASE files, delimited text files, DIF files, direct and
indexed BBx files, Excel .XLS and Lotus 1-2-3 .WKS
spreadsheet files. |
Import Operations
|
Existing data values
can be manipulated prior to the import process. You can
assign a literal value to an existing value, or replace,
add to or subtract from existing values. You can
increment values automatically from the first record in
the file or begin incrementing from a predefined source
record. In addition, you can link specific data items
from multiple source files. |
Calculated Information
|
Calculation formulas
using constants, date item names, dates and mathematical
operations can be used when importing data. |
RecordSelection
|
Importing can be
restricted to specific import file records. If no data
selection criteria are specified, all data records from
the import file will be imported. Positional selections
can be done. For example, you can import records with the
prefix 753 in the phone number. |
Review Sample Data
|
A Sample Data option
allows you to verify the accuracy of the defined import
format before actually importing data. You can preview
import data on your video monitor or print hard copy. |
Import Master Log
|
This audit trail
summarizes all import function information. The report
can be printed for successfully imported records, for
records which were not imported or for all records
involved in the import process. The field contents of any
failed import fields are displayed in the Import Log. |
Import Master Maintenance Listing
|
All predefined import
functions are listed on this report. The detailed version
of this listing includes data item, record selection and
record type selection information. |
Data Dictionary Listing
|
Each data item
contained within an MAS 90 application data file is
detailed on this report. In addition to data type, key
and mask information, you can also print import
validation or record type information on the listing. |
