Buildstar is template-based construction management software that has been designed to walk homebuilders through all phases of a construction project.
Once a construction cost estimate is created, Buildstar generates professional reports for presenting those estimates, as well as proposed schedules and client questionnaires. From there, contractors can send construction project bid invitations via fax or email as well as regular mail; if clients are given a Buildstar username and password, they can accept those bids online, the vendor said.
For construction accounting, Buildstar uses a real-time QuickBooks interface to track expenses and record items such as purchase orders and client payments. All transactions are displayed in a budget report, and all change orders are documented, according to the vendor.
Buildstar's document manager also lets contractors (and clients) view plans, documents and photos. Paperwork can be scanned and saved into the document manager, the vendor said.
Finally, Buildstar lets contractors track license and insurance information, as well as expiration dates, for subcontractors. This construction management software will also group subcontractors by trade and record a subcontractor's bidding history, the vendor said.
