Data Builder's Electronic Paper Control System, or e-PCS, is an electronic document storage and retrieval system that can be used by all stakeholders in a construction project, from owners to engineers to human resources personnel.
According to Data Builder, e-PCS's key document management features include optical character recognition, digital scanning, electronic archiving for a number of document types, including email, and workflow rules for revising and sharing documents.
All documents are displayed in a folder-tree structure; documents with common attributes can be linked in virtual sets, the vendor said. Administrators can define document retention policies and set document-level permissions to restrict who can view, edit or delete a document, the vendor said.
e-PCS is available in two implementations -- OnPremise (client-based software) or OnDemand (software as a service).
