The Encompix Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) module is specifically designed to keep up with the constant changes facing engineer-to-order manufacturers. In this environment, finite capacity is a reality and production constraints need to be managed to ensure maximum throughput and on-time delivery. Based on the concepts outlined in The Goal by Eli Goldratt, Encompix APS helps manage production bottlenecks and other constraints (material, tooling, and skilled labor). Schedule forward/backward and finite/infinite in any combination. Selecting the "What-If" function allows the system to model the shop load to reflect forecasts, changing work centers, changing capacity and so forth. Establish separate production calendars per work center, allowing for planned maintenance, setting up working and non-working days and establishing crew sizes per shift.
Features
User defined shifts, shift patterns and scheduling rules
User defined planning horizon with the ability to reschedule jobs within that horizon automatically
Ability to schedule based on constraints: bottleneck resources, material availability, and secondary resources such as tooling or labor pools
Tasks are scheduled to the second - scheduled may be zoomed in/out to any level of detail
Takes into account business policies – customer priority, least slack time, reduced setups, order due date
Provides complete interaction between Scheduling, Job Order Entry, material requirements, subcontracting and Purchasing
Dispatch list provides daily to-do at each work center
Alternative work centers may be grouped to allow APS to select and schedule the work on the first available resource within the group
Performance measurements and graphs available to compare various scheduling options and determine "best schedule"
