It helps you increase productivity and reduce operating costs by automatically synchronizing IFS Applications services and information content via wireless or mobile devices, such as PDAs and barcode scanners. With the increasing demands on mobility and real-time information regardless of physical location, IFS/Mobile & Wireless Services provides information to users whenever they need it, wherever they are.
Event Management With IFS/Event Management™you can let the application become an active part of the business processes by immediately notifying employees, customers, and suppliers as events occur. You can use events both to inform and to prompt action. For example, customers can receive notification if their order is delayed for any reason, and managers can be prompted when new supplier invoices need approval. IFS/Event Management extends the capabilities of IFS/Personal Portal by proactively notifying users as relevant changes and events take place. IFS/Event Management can communicate with users through e-mail, SMS, the "My Messages" portlet, and many other communications channels, or to business partners as XML-based messages.
System Integration & Web Services With IFS/System Integration & Web Services™, any service can be published as a Web service, transmitted via numerous protocols, integrated with messaging middleware products such as Microsoft BizTalk Server or WebSphere MQ Integrator, or simply exported to a file. Designed for XML and the Web Services concept, it can also be integrated with legacy systems, EDI handlers, file import/export, and event notification. IFS/System Integration & Web Services can be used to convert XML messages to or from fixed position files and communicated through WebSphere MQ Family with a legacy Cobol application running on a mainframe.
