Opus Magnum Software offers three job cost accounting software products for the construction industry. Each comes with a variety of modules.- EZJOB's construction project management module, the EZJOB Business Control Center, serves as a central location for critical company information. The Business Control Center allows users to view a custom list of account balances, browse through active jobs to view estimated versus actual costs and billings, and select specific active jobs to see cost, retainage, account and revenue data, said the vendor.
- EZJOB Job Cost includes built-in change-order management, progress reporting with gain/loss forecasting, reporting of open commitments, actual costs, automatic balancing of the general ledger, analysis of labor costs per unit, and profit and loss statements by job.
- Using the EZJOB general ledger, users can generate journal entries for review with the subledger transactions such as purchases, payroll, sales, purchase orders, subcontracts and inventory. Charts can include up to 10 alphanumeric digits; here users have the option to separate general and sub account codes.
- EZJOB Payroll allows users to maintain every check separately with its entire labor distribution, enabling users to answer workers' compensation and state unemployment queries without wasting time researching, the vendor said. Additional capabilities of this job cost accounting software module include handling prevailing wages on certified jobs, handling multiple pay rates and running multiple pay cycles together.
- EZJOB Purchases, Opus Magnum's accounts payable module, offers users tight control over disbursements, cash requirement projections, immediate review of each vendor's payable and paid items, distribution of charges and discounts to the general ledger and job ledger and prevention of costly errors including duplicate invoices and subcontract overruns, the vendor said.
- Using Opus Magnum's accounts receivable module, EZJOB Sales, users can distribute manual invoices to a number of jobs and revenue codes or to general ledger accounts, said the vendor.
- EZJOB Subcontract is a control system that retains original contract amounts and keeps a detailed report with the date, amount and number of every change order and adjustment made. Potential over-billing of a contract is identified during invoice entry, the vendor said.
- EZJOB Purchase Orders enable coding of a purchase order to an inventory item, job and cost code or directly to a general ledger account or a purchase order register.
- Using EZJOB's first-in-first-out inventory system, users can issue materials to a number of jobs and cost codes or they can excess materials from jobs back into inventory.
- The EZJOB tool tracking module allows contractors to create a library of all their tools and generate reports indicating when each tool is checked in and out, either to a job site or to an employee.
