In addition to its primary Estimator software, SharpeSoft Inc., whose roots lie in construction estimating, developed a number of complementary solutions, including Field Reporter, which takes estimator data and transfers it into a budget for field workers.
Foremen can see the estimator’s crew assumptions for each job and can enter information into the Field Reporter. Data entry can be done when a user is online or offline; in the latter case, Field Reporter will automatically synchronize and update information the next time a user connects, SharpeSoft said.
A daily log tracks the foreman’s daily diaries, which that list items of work, incidents, labor and equipment utilization and other notes. Field Reporter also allows the foremen to compare actual vs. estimated cost, enabling foremen to make dispatch requests to correct small problems before they turn into big losses, SharpeSoft said.
The software also includes about 35 built-in reports that track information such as equipment usage hours, material delivery tags, rental equipment utilization and sub-contractor work. Field Reporter can also prepare progress billings, the vendor said. Finally, for security purposes permissions can be set for individuals or for user groups, SharpeSoft said.
