Made2Manage Systems Announces Customer Satisfaction, Customer Wins in 2003 |

Customer-Driven Release of Made2Manage Version 5.5 and Strong New Customer Acquisition Results Represent Key 2003 Milestones
INDIANAPOLIS, February 3, 2004—Made2Manage Systems Inc., a leading provider of comprehensive enterprise software for small and midsize manufacturers, today reported that its refined company strategy has contributed to an increase in customer satisfaction and strong new customer acquisition results for the year ended December 31, 2003.
Since the company’s acquisition in August 2003, Made2Manage Systems has aggressively refined its overarching strategy and objectives to increase focus on customers and ensure the stability of the organization. “The primary shift at Made2Manage Systems has been an increased emphasis on our customers,” said Jeff Tognoni, CEO of Made2Manage Systems. “We’ve already taken steps to improve customer communication, satisfaction and loyalty. In addition, we’ve begun to focus the whole of our product development resources on improving the quality of current Made2Manage products, with added functionality driven by customer needs versus hot-button technology trends.”
The November release of the Made2Manage® Enterprise Business System, version 5.5, is indicative of the company’s commitment to product quality and customer satisfaction. The release, employing nearly a year of Made2Manage Systems’ product development resources, includes dozens of key vertical market extensions and addresses hundreds of specific user requests. The version 5.5 upgrade, compatible with all previous versions of the Made2Manage system, was well received by the company’s 1700-strong customer base. Troy Young, IT manager at USNR, a manufacturer of sawmill machinery, said, “I commend Made2Manage Systems’ efforts on creating an easy upgrade to version 5.5. Our installation went extremely smoothly with no errors. We have had multiple comments across our organization on the speed, optimized screens, and improved look and feel of Made2Manage v 5.5. We are looking forward to using the enhanced production, financial and supply chain functionality on this version. Many of these features are going to increase our productivity significantly.”
Parallel to Made2Manage Systems ongoing commitment to customer-driven product enhancements is a continued stream of new customer acquisitions. New system sales for the fourth quarter, ended December 31, 2003, exceeded expectations by more than 130 percent. Overall, strong 2003 results confirmed Made2Manage Systems’ focus on meeting the industry specifications of its customer base.
Paul Kern, vice president of engineering at Great Lakes Home and Resort, a rubber and plastics manufacturer of various home and resort leisure products, said, “In so many ways, considering what we do and how we operate, Made2Manage will be a perfect fit for us. When compared to the six other ERP systems we researched, nothing met our vertical industry requirements better than Made2Manage software.” The company, which moved from a MAPICS system to the Made2Manage Enterprise Business System in 2003, expects to eliminate the islands of information it currently supports through the implementation of some of Made2Manage’s fully integrated optional modules, including Made2Manage Customer Relationship Management (M2M™ CRM), the Made2Manage enterprise portal (M2M VIP), and master production scheduling tools.
Handy & Harman Electronic Materials Group (HHEMG), an integrated manufacturer and provider of precision stamped, plated, insert molded, and assembled components and subassemblies, moved to the Made2Manage Enterprise Business System in 2003 to replace a patchwork of legacy ERP systems. According to David Hatfield, HHEMG’s business process manager, “In our industry, cost-downs are a fact of life, and it is paramount that we understand our costs and business activities accurately. This requirement and the pursuit of total customer satisfaction has led us to choose a system that will enable us to more fully understand internal costs and place us in a more competitive position in the industry.
