M2M™ University Case Study to be Highlighted at Training Magazine’s Training 2004 Conference and Exposition in Atlanta
INDIANAPOLIS, March 1, 2004—Made2Manage Systems Inc., a leading provider of comprehensive enterprise software for small and midsize manufacturers, today announced the delivery of a case study presentation on rapid e-learning via Made2Manage Systems’ prime source for customer/employee training and education, M2M University, at Training Magazine’s (VNU Business Media) Training 2004 Conference and Exposition in Atlanta. The case study presentation is one course offering within a rapid e-learning certificate program regularly offered by Bersin & Associates, a leading research and consulting firm focused on e-learning.
Blended learning, a relatively new term to the education vernacular, combines online and face-to-face approaches. Practitioners have defined the concept more specifically as long-distance education that uses either high-tech (e.g., television, Internet) or low-tech (e.g., teleconferencing) technologies combined with more traditional (i.e., live) education and training tactics. Training Magazine’s 2004 Conference focuses on four blended learning themes: training, online learning, presentation skills, and USDLA (United States Distance Learning Association) practices.
“Made2Manage Systems’ role in the Training 2004 conference reinforces the company’s thought leadership and expertise within the blended learning community,” said Jeff Tognoni, CEO of Made2Manage Systems. “The ongoing improvement of our customer education programs supports our continued goal of providing award-winning, leading-edge, and comprehensive support and services offerings for our customers.”
The case study presentation, given by Made2Manage Systems’ Instructional Technologist Jason Strasser, focuses on recorded class production, its ability to provide just-in-time training needs for both new and veteran Made2Manage users, and its role in the application of blended learning tactics within M2M University. “With more than 1300 hours of live education offerings, of which 25 percent and counting are recorded, M2M University continues to increase the breadth and flexibility of learning opportunities to its customers,” said Strasser.
In his presentation, Strasser also will stress the continued growth in the use of streaming media for e-learning purposes. According to a recent report by Aberdeen Group and StreamingMedia.com, by the end of 2004, the use of streaming media for e-learning will increase by roughly 20 percent over 2003. In the same vein, M2M University has seen a 30 percent increase in virtual attendance every year since M2M University’s inception in 2001.
“Made2Manage Systems has been delivering blended learning training techniques since 1999,” said Todd Schulte, director of customer support and education. “By combining various technologies like TechSmith Camtasia, iLinc Communications Inc. iLinc, and Microsoft .NET with the live and recorded instruction of seasoned Made2Manage product experts, M2M University is able to deliver training and education to our customers that can be tailored to a user’s experience, job type, schedule and budget. Our ability to meet the unique training needs of our customers across numerous vertical manufacturing industries and help them maximize and accelerate their return on investment is second to none.”
