Jasper Seating Uses System-Spurred 25 Percent Revenue Increase to Invest in New Market Opportunities
DENVER, INDIANAPOLIS, and Jasper, Ind., April 24, 2006 - Made2Manage Systems Inc., the leading provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and a broad range of services for manufacturers, and Jasper Seating Company, Inc. (Jasper Seating), a designer and manufacturer of quality wood furniture products, today announced Jasper Seating’s acceptance of the software provider’s 2006 Best Overall Use of the Made2Manage® Enterprise Business System award.
The award, part of Made2Manage Systems' Summit Awards, typically recognizes a customer that has demonstrated excellence in utilizing multiple applications across the Made2Manage system. Recipients of the award demonstrate a clear return on their investment in products and services, such as steady business growth, improved operational performance, and new business opportunities. Jasper Seating will receive the award this afternoon at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Denver during Made2Manage Systems' premier customer conference, Made2Manage Connect 2006.
Faced with intense pressure from Asian imports, rising raw material prices, and a shortage of skilled labor in its region, Jasper Seating sought to replace an old ERP system that was impacting the company’s responsiveness to customer inquiries and becoming a limiting factor to the company’s growth. The software only supported two plants, each having its own database.
The implementation of the Made2Manage system supported Jasper Seating’s strategic business goals. In particular, the multi-plant capabilities enabled the company to expand from three to six facilities, five of which were used for production. Since going live in January 2003, Jasper Seating has achieved increases in both revenue and profitability, enabling the company to invest in new market opportunities, such as its recent acquisition of Klem Hospitality, a manufacturer of armoires, headboards, nightstands and dressers, designed to serve the hotel and motel industry. Overall, the company realized the following return on investment:- A 25 percent increase in revenue.
- A 90 percent rate of on-time shipments.
- A 75 percent increase in inventory turnover.
- Reductions in safety stock and fewer shortages.
- A 25 percent increase in production throughput.
“Our increased sales and profitability have allowed Jasper Seating to pursue other investments in technology and production facilities,” said Brian Lish, vice president of Jasper Seating. “This growth would not have been possible without the features and capabilities in the Made2Manage solution.”
