F.I.T. Increases Sales by $3.2 Million and Reduces Inventory Stock by $700,000 Within Two Years of Implementing System
DENVER, INDIANAPOLIS and CLEVELAND, April 24, 2006 - Made2Manage Systems Inc., the leading provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and a broad range of services for manufacturers, and Fuserashi International Technology, Inc. (F.I.T.), a manufacturer of precision nuts, bushings, inner metals, piston blanks, and specialty cold formed steel products, today announced F.I.T.’s acceptance of the software provider’s 2006 Transformation Award.
The Transformation Award, part of Made2Manage Systems' Summit Awards, typically recognizes a new customer that has been able to reinvent its business and/or rapidly reach a return on investment. Award recipients demonstrate significant business improvements, such as improved customer service, new revenue sources, production efficiency, time savings, and increased sales. F.I.T. will receive the award this afternoon at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Denver during Made2Manage Systems' premier customer conference, Made2Manage Connect 2006.
In 1996, Osaka, Japan-based Fuserashi Co. Ltd. founded F.I.T. in Cleveland, Ohio, to have a production and distribution arm closer to Honda plants in Ohio, Alabama, and Canada. The company grew quickly, expanding plant capacity three times in its first seven years as a subsidiary. To accommodate for the growth, F.I.T. sought to implement a comprehensive ERP system that would consolidate all operational activities, from redistribution to production, into one system and database.
Just two years after a successful four-month implementation of the Made2Manage® Enterprise Business System, F.I.T. increased sales by $3.2 million (or 12 percent) without adding staff. In addition, the company was able to:- Achieve $700,000 in inventory stock reductions via improved forecasting of internal and external demand.
- Increase its product line, as well as the value of inventory on shelf itself, going from 20 manufactured parts and 60 redistribution parts to 70 manufactured parts and 200 redistribution parts.
- Eliminate the need for annual physical inventory.
- Improve job costing by 100 percent, which led to more profitable product pricing.
- Utilize 100 percent of current capacity through improved scheduling.
- Dramatically reduce time spent on month-end closings.
- Use improved data visibility and custom reporting to improve key business processes.
“Having the right tools to analyze our performance has brought the attention level of F.I.T. associates to a higher level,” said Michael Lupico, IT coordinator for F.I.T. “We are all more capable of analyzing and reporting on the immediate and projected impacts of changes that occur in our industry. We are starting to focus on what really matters to us—our profitability.”
