November 10, 2005 BOISE, IDAHO – Features in Cougar Mountain Software’s latest release are focused on improving cash flow for users of the firm’s accounting, fund accounting and point of sale software.
The privately held software company, headquartered in Boise, Idaho, surveyed their customer and reseller base and implemented features designed to streamline collection and payment processing, cut transaction time, improve security and ease credit card processing.
Jim Stone, Chief Operating Officer of the software publishing company, said “Essentially, we made improving our customers’ cash flow our bottom line for this release. Potential features had to pass the test: Will it cut transaction times, simplify or improve payment processing, improve the security of our customers’ financial data? At Cougar Mountain, we realize that helping our customers succeed will be what helps us achieve our business goals.”
Cougar Mountain’s Version 10 allows customers to accept payments by credit card as well as pay their vendors using a credit card. It enhances electronic transfer options, and includes reports that speed customer order entry tasks and improve inventory management. In this new release, Cougar Mountain provides a path to compliance with USA Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) requirements. Among practices designed to ensure security of financial data is the 256-bit encryption of credit card numbers. Improvements in the processing of business and consumer checks will follow shortly.
Surveyed customers requested and received the ability to create a copy of a company and all its data, within the current program. This new feature proves its value at year end, by preserving historical data, and is useful year-round for testing new processes and conducting training without risking critical data.
