Talk will Address Activity-Based Costing
MIDDLETON, MA - October 6, 2008- Exact Software, a leading provider of solutions that connect the people, processes and knowledge essential to an organization, today announced that David Lechleitner, Exact JobBOSS Senior Product Expert, will speak at the upcoming FABTECH International & AWS Welding Show, October 8, 2008, in Las Vegas, NV.
FABTECH 2008 is North America's largest metal forming, fabricating, tube & pipe and welding trade show which will host more than 800 exhibitors and is expected to draw over 20,000 attendees. The show combines the efforts of several trade associations to produce an annual event for the full range of metal forming and fabricating industry professionals. At the event, Mr. Lechleitner will present "NEW! Cost Estimating for Job Shops."
With the escalating volatility of the current economy, business expenditures are being examined more closely than ever before. The cost estimating function in any job shop critically affects the success of the business, and job shops are increasingly tasked with justifying assignment of costs. Mr. Lechleitner's session will focus on capitalizing on activity-based costing (ABC) models to more accurately assign cost of activities, according to consumption, to generate more precise predictions of actual overheads.
Mr. Lechleitner will highlight examples of why traditional shop rates fall short, characteristics of shops implementing ABC, accurate allocation to jobs in the shop and tools needed to include in an ERP system to review costs and application of overhead. Shops that have adopted such methods are realizing the benefits of ABC models and have successfully enhanced cost comprehension and advanced their business. This unique and interesting session will help attendees avoid pricing mistakes that can cost profit that can never be recovered.
