Small and Midsize Companies Worldwide Embrace Latest Version of SAP® Business One

SAP Business One 2004 Now Available Internationally;
Incorporates New Business Intelligence Features through Acquisition of iLytix Systems AS

WALLDORF, Germany - January 12, 2005 — SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced that businesses around the world can now benefit from increased insight and managerial control as the new version of SAP® Business One, SAP’s affordable and integrated business management solution for small and midsize companies, is now generally available in more than 35 countries. The solution incorporates new materials requirement planning (MRP) capabilities, enhancements to its financials and embedded customer relationship management (CRM) features and reporting and business intelligence capabilities leveraging Microsoft® Excel through SAP’s acquisition of the technology and assets of iLytix Systems AS, a privately held software company based in Oslo, Norway. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Delivered through SAP’s global network of authorized channel partners, SAP Business One gives small and midsize companies the unprecedented opportunity to manage critical business operations with a single software solution. Offering seamless integration with Microsoft® Excel and Microsoft® Outlook for ease of use and increased productivity, SAP Business One provides users with advanced reporting, access to critical data and the ability to manage events in real time. Integrated customer relationship management (CRM) and business management features ensure seamless interaction and full managerial control across sales, service and all other areas of the business. With a consistent worldwide format as well as localized capabilities for individual countries, SAP Business One is a uniquely global business management solution for small and midsize organizations.

“The new MRP functionality is very easy to understand, with reports that give a good look at exactly what is needed,” said Geoff Booth, chief operating officer, Crestline Coach Ltd., a maker of ambulances, buses, rescue and specialty vehicles, based in Saskatoon, Canada. “The embedded CRM gives our sales staff a more complete picture of the entire customer relationship and the user interface is the best I have seen by far—in ease of use and consistency.”

Business Intelligence (BI) Capabilities for Small and Midsize Businesses
Small and midsize business will be able to make dramatic gains in productivity and business insight using new reporting and business intelligence capabilities available in SAP Business One. The new XL Reporter™ makes SAP Business One information immediately available in Microsoft® Excel, eliminating the time-consuming task of exporting and re-formatting data. The solution also allows customers to easily create new or modify existing financial and business reports and schedule reports for automatic delivery to managers, CPAs and other key decisionmakers.

The solution’s reporting and business intelligence features make it a powerful and easy-to-use tool for accountants and financial professionals, enabling them to leverage information from both SAP Business One and other sources for up-to-the minute analytics and insight across the business. Users have the ability to create comprehensive business reports, comparisons and “what if” scenarios in seconds with new point-and-click and drag-and-drop features. Because the reporting tool uses Microsoft Excel, formatting, calculations and other activities can be easily mastered, facilitating widespread adoption of the solution.

The new XL Reporter™ feature is a reporting and budgeting tool acquired from iLytix Systems AS. SAP has and will continue to integrate the company, its assets and employees into its operations as part of the transaction.

“Our business relies to a large degree on Excel for presenting and analyzing information, and the ability to use XL Reporter as an integrated part of SAP Business One will allow us to save valuable time and gain new levels of insight across the company,” said Linda Olechnowicz, controller, CSI International, Inc., a New Jersey-based building service company. “With this addition, SAP is making business management easier for small and midsize companies around the world by offering new solutions in the formats users find most familiar.”

The new version of SAP Business One is currently available to new customers and will be provided to existing SAP Business One customers as part of their standard maintenance contract. SAP intends to make XL Reporter available with SAP Business One by end of the first quarter of 2005.

“We continue to invest in SAP Business One to provide our customers with affordable and integrated business management tools for running their businesses better,” said Gadi Shamia, vice president, Solution Management, SAP Business One, SAP. “At the same time, we are committed to providing our partners with a flexible and effective core product that they can adapt to meet the needs of specific customers and market segments where they see this opportunity.”
