SAP America Appoints Evan Welsh as Manager of Corporate Communications |

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. - April 05, 2005 - SAP America, Inc., a subsidiary of SAP AG (NYSE: SAP), today announced that it has appointed Evan Welsh as manager of Corporate Communications. In this role, Welsh will be responsible for developing and managing executive communications, media relations and customer communications programs that increase SAP’s visibility in the North American market.
“Evan will play a key part in boosting awareness of SAP in a region that has become the growth engine for the company and the entire business software industry,” said Steve Bauer, vice president of North American Communications, SAP America. “He has a great track record of working with the regional and national media, and he has established excellent contacts with a broad range of businesses and organizations in the U.S.”
Welsh has more than 10 years of communications experience and most recently served as director of Public Relations and Communications for The Franklin Institute science museum in Philadelphia. In that position, Welsh developed and implemented media relations, events, employee communications and community relations programs that successfully established the institute as a premier destination. During his tenure, Welsh worked closely with the city of Philadelphia, the Greater Philadelphia Tourism and Marketing Corporation and the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau to ensure that all of their public relations efforts were tightly integrated.
Prior to working at the Franklin Institute, Welsh was director of Public Relations and Communications for The American College in Bryn Mawr, Penn., and director of Public Relations for Rosemont College in Rosemont, Penn.
