More than 10,000 SAP Customers, Partners and Technical Community to Convene at Largest SAP NetWeaver® Education Event of the Year; Special “Four for Three” Registration Offer Available
Executive Board Member Shai Agassi to Discuss How to Apply Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA) Today
BOSTON, Mass. and VIENNA, Austria - September 06, 2005 - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced plans for SAP® TechEd ’05, the largest technology education conference of the year. The event provides SAP’s customers, partners and technical community with an expanded curriculum of workshops, certification opportunities and technical sessions to learn how to turn IT infrastructures into enablers of business change and growth. To encourage SAP customers, partners and developers to bring their peers to SAP TechEd in 2005, SAP is offering companies that purchase three conference registrations an additional fourth registration at no additional charge. SAP TechEd ’05 will take place in Vienna, Austria, Sept. 21-23 and in Boston, Mass., Sept. 27-30. Additional SAP TechEd conferences will be held in Bangalore, India, Oct. 5-7 and Tokyo, Japan, Oct. 26-27, 2005.
This year’s expanded TechEd ’05 curriculum offers new educational programs for business analysts, consultants, IT managers and system administrators. More than 300 hands-on workshops and lecture sessions will focus on topics such as business process management, Web services, service-oriented architecture (SOA) and Linux and Java development. The lectures and classes will be led by SAP experts from within the SAP development organization—the actual developers, technical strategists and product managers who build SAP products. At the SAP TechEd conference in Boston, the Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG) will provide additional content in the form of case studies highlighting ASUG members’ experiences with SAP NetWeaver and their adoption of an Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA) blueprint.
Attendees will also receive information surrounding SAP’s strategy for business-driven, SOA-based packaged solutions, custom solutions and composites on a single platform. As the industry’s only major application vendor to provide SOA solutions and composites, such as, SAP xApps™, mySAP™ Customer Relationship Management (mySAP CRM) and SAP Analytics, SAP is in a unique position to help other organizations drive maximum business flexibility.
SAP TechEd ’05 will include a keynote presentation by Shai Agassi, president, Product and Technology Group, and member of SAP’s executive board, detailing how SAP is evolving SAP NetWeaver into a business process platform and what partners and developers can do now to take advantage of these technologies.
Two programs that made a successful debut last year at SAP TechEd ’04 will return in 2005: SAP NetWeaver certification opportunities and the SAP Developer Network (SDN) Clubhouse, the embodiment of the online community for SAP developers, consultants and integrators. The SDN Clubhouse blends the virtual community of SDN (free access at sdn.sap.com) with live events to create a real-world SDN experience for conference delegates. The SDN Clubhouse will host Birds-of-a-Feather sessions and a Demo Jam showcasing the hottest new SAP NetWeaver technology, hosted by Agassi. SDN has experienced tremendous growth and adoption over the past year, highlighted by rollouts in both Japan and China, and an amazing growth in membership to 185,000 participants in only two years.
In addition, the SAP NetWeaver and ESA communities have grown: 855 ISV solutions have been certified “Powered by SAP NetWeaver”; eleven technology titans in computing, storage, networking and management are delivering products that license enterprise services; and more than 2,500 consultants and thousands of system integrators are driving hundreds of “ESA road map” services at their customers’ locations.
“Organizations have started to create road maps that will enable their transition to a service-oriented architecture,” said Agassi. “As such, the SAP TechEd events create a community for success by allowing customers, partners and developers to share and accelerate knowledge surrounding SAP NetWeaver while they discover how existing processes and IT landscapes can be transformed into enablers of business innovation and change.”
Registration information and the conference agenda for each of the SAP TechEd ’05 events can be found http://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/sapteched.sdn.
