PeopleSoft and JD Edwards Customers Gain Access to Cost-Effective and Lower-Risk BPO Offering, Powered by SAP
Arinso International Joins SAP BPO Program
WALLDORF, Germany - September 15, 2005 - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced the extension of its Safe Passage program for Oracle’s customers using PeopleSoft and JD Edwards (JDE) solutions through business process outsourcing (BPO). Through the Safe Passage BPO program, service providers will get access to SAP resources such as experts, methodologies and planning and migration tools to help PeopleSoft and JDE customers migrate more effectively to SAP® solutions. Additionally, the program’s financial terms will give BPO providers substantial recognition of the value of PeopleSoft and JDE software licenses. This tangible advantage passed on to their customers will help them protect their IT investment.
Leveraging BPO presents an attractive alternative for PeopleSoft and JDE customers seeking to avoid the uncertainty surrounding their applications’ end of life after Oracle’s acquisition of PeopleSoft and JDE. Providers participating in SAP’s recently launched “BPO Services Powered by SAP” program, designed to help businesses execute a successful outsourcing strategy, can also take advantage of the Safe Passage BPO program. These providers will be able to minimize migration cost and limit the risks of business disruption. By replacing PeopleSoft/JDE solutions with SAP applications, technology and maintenance services in a BPO model, customers will immediately gain access to a future-proof platform, while taking advantage of the domain expertise of the BPO provider.
In making the announcement, SAP also revealed that Arinso International, a global human resources services provider, recently joined the “BPO Services Powered by SAP” program. With this program, initiated in April 2005, SAP endorses and actively supports the set-up and ongoing operations of BPO delivery platforms in close collaboration with BPO providers. The “BPO Services Powered by SAP” quality seal certifies that BPO providers possess in-depth knowledge of SAP solutions, offer proven support and operations capabilities and keep the SAP solution for their customers on current technology.
“SAP’s BPO program offers an exceptionally smart and fast path for customers to secure their future while leveraging the BPO market trend in HR,” said Jos Sluys, CEO, Arinso. “As part of our euHReka offering, ARINSO has developed a set of tools, in depth pre-configuration and standardized processes to facilitate a migration to SAP’s HR software, to satisfy our customers demand even better and more cost-effectively.”
“BPO Services Powered by SAP” providers can quickly connect to their customers’ retained IT infrastructure via the SAP NetWeaver® platform, which includes connectors for PeopleSoft and JDE solutions. Also, ongoing PeopleSoft/JDE maintenance services can be handled by TomorrowNow, the third-party maintenance and support provider recently acquired by SAP, at substantially lower costs.
“With this expansion of SAP’s Safe Passage program to include SAP-certified HRM BPO providers, organizations of all sizes now running on PeopleSoft or JDEdwards HRMS’s can move more easily to mySAP ERP HCM, a global market leading solution, with no new capital outlay and mitigated implementation and upgrade cost and risks,” said Naomi Bloom, managing partner of Bloom & Wallace.
“SAP is committed to also helping PeopleSoft and JD Edwards customers find attractive options for managing their businesses more effectively,” said Bernd-Uwe Pagel, senior vice president of BPO, SAP AG. “Through SAP’s BPO program, enterprises can fully expect to leverage the stability and reliability of our company and its solutions in an outsourced environment, which is managed by some of the most capable BPO providers in the market today.”
