SAP and RWD Give Global Thrust to Customers’ Enterprise Performance |

RWD Technologies Inc. and SAP® Education Expand Alliance to Meet Global Demand for User Training Services in Software Rollouts and Ongoing Business Process Innovation
VIENNA, Austria - September 21, 2005 - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) and RWD Technologies today announced a global offering to help SAP customers derive greater value from their enterprise systems by maximizing employee proficiency in using SAP® solutions. Addressing a critical factor for successful software implementations and ongoing business performance, SAP and RWD have forged a distribution agreement spanning nearly all countries worldwide for their combined change management and end-user training offering—products and services that already have helped more than 700 SAP customers worldwide achieve time savings of up to 50 percent in training SAP users. The announcement was made at SAP TechEd® ’05, being held in Vienna, Austria, September 21-23, 2005.
With the global relationship, SAP and RWD aim to meet the growing demand among SAP customers outside of the United States and Canada, where the companies have provided the training offering since 2001. The offering comes as enterprises increasingly recognize the importance of training and support services for more effective and rapid software deployment. According to estimates by analyst firm IDC1, worldwide IT training revenue will reach approximately $21 billion in 2005.
“The operational success of enterprise application investments depends largely upon the speed, proficiency and skill with which employees can execute business processes using the technology,” said Cushing Anderson, program director, IT Education and Certification, IDC. “Organizations must offer employees continual access to the learning support resources they need to achieve the highest performance possible.”
Under the new agreement with RWD, SAP will distribute SAP User Training and Performance Solutions incorporating RWD Info Pak®, a suite of services software to improve users’ proficiency in working with SAP® solutions. By integrating the RWD suite, SAP offers a comprehensive training and performance solution that helps accelerate implementations through the efficient development, organization and distribution of documentation, training materials and online help.
For Toray Plastics (America) Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of polypropylene and polyester packaging products, the low-cost, rapid implementation and training solution played a key role in transitioning 120 users from its legacy enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to mySAP™ ERP.
