Midmarket Jeweler Selects SAP for Retail to Integrate Store and Web Operations to Enhance Customer Experience, Drive Top-line Sales, Enable Multichannel Shopping and Minimize In-Store Administrative Tasks
CHICAGO, Ill. - May 22, 2006 - As continuing evidence of its leadership in providing business software solutions for retail companies of all sizes around the world, SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced that leading diamond and jewelry retailer Shane Co. will implement SAP for Retail to support its strategy to leverage multichannel sales, improve customer service and pricing consistency and enable merchants more time to focus on business decisions. Shane Co. will leverage SAP’s retail solution portfolio to optimize inventory across its business, providing better customer service and decreasing out-of-stocks. SAP for Retail will help Shane Co. support sales through its 23 retail locations and Website with greater efficiency, improved data accuracy and reduced manual processes. Furthermore, Shane Co. will leverage SAP’s extensive suite of point-of-sale solutions to provide integration with gift card applications. The announcement was made at Retail Systems 2006 Conference and Exposition, being held in Chicago, Illinois, May 21-24.
CIBER Novasoft, the SAP® solution consulting division of CIBER, Inc., will serve as SAP’s prime implementation partner on the project, providing their extensive consulting expertise and their Rapid Retail™ solution, a template-based SAP implementation approach that can reduce costs and implementation time by up to 40 percent.
Shane will replace a homegrown legacy system with mySAP™ Business Suite applications, built upon the market-leading SAP NetWeaver® platform, as the strategic foundation to support its core merchandising, standardize its business processes, improve its agility and speed to market and provide greater visibility into its inventory.
