Best Software Introduces the Peachtree® 3rd Party Add-On Program

 
Add-on partners extend functionality and increase productivity for Peachtree customers

Atlanta, Ga. - March 7, 2005 - Best Software announced today the inaugural members of its new Peachtree 3rd Party Add-On Program for the Peachtree Accounting product line. These partners in turn have unveiled eight new add-on products which extend the functionality of the Peachtree product line in the areas of manufacturing, construction, logistics, service management, point of sale, EDI, utilities and others.

“With the Peachtree 3rd Party Add-on Program, we’ve broadened the scope of available product features for our customers, by opening the door for our developer partners to add complementary functionality to our core product offerings,” said Jim Portner, vice president, product management. “With eight products currently on board and more expected, these add-on solutions further enhance and extend the functionality of Peachtree for our small business customers, giving them industry-specific features and additional capabilities to meet their businesses’ diverse needs.”

Developers who join the program have access to the Peachtree Software Developers Kit, which enables development of Add-On software for specific Peachtree 2005 products—Peachtree Complete Accounting, Peachtree Premium Accounting and Peachtree Industry Solutions. The SDK includes documentation, sample code and a ‘Getting Started’ Developer’s Guide. Partners participating in the program can join at one of two levels: gold or silver, depending on their preference, for marketing power, sales engagement, support, and more. For those who wish to develop integrated solutions but don’t want access to the benefits of the Partner program, the SDK is available for free. A la Carte support options are available to assist those developers with their efforts, if needed.
One of the inaugural 3rd party Add-on partners, Attitude POSitive, offers AccuPOS Retail, a Point Of Sale solution for retailers. "For over eight years, AccuPOS Retail has provided a fast and reliable front-end solution for Peachtree Accounting," said Zion Shina, of Attitude Positive. "We are excited about the additional tools that Best Software has introduced for developers to use to further enhance the transfer of information from and to Peachtree Accounting. AccuPOS Retail enables collecting sales information in a fast-paced retail environment using Touch Screens and scanners. At the end of every shift AccuPOS automatically updates Peachtree with line item detail sales information. This type of integration allows users to maintain inventory, produce sales, profit and loss statements and final balances within Peachtree accounting. All businesses, from small family owned stores to franchises with multiple locations can benefit from the flexibility and ease-of-use this combination of solutions provides."

All of the new 3rd Party Add-on products have been reviewed by Best Software and are compatible and compliant with Peachtree 2005 products and the 3rd Party Program’s guidelines. Inaugural partners and their product offerings include:
  • Attitude POSitive – AccuPOS: AccuPOS provides easy & reliable POS that reports sales and customer details seamlessly into Peachtree for inventory management and bookkeeping.

  • Coastal Computer Corporation – Electronic Service Control – ESC: ESC is a service management system, and its integration allows users to seamlessly exchange data with Peachtree as if the two programs were one, completely eliminating the need for import/export and double entry. Currently, ESC’s main areas of integration with Peachtree are customer and vendor information, job creation and costing, sales invoicing, and accounts payable.

  • eBRIDGE Software Inc. – eBridge for Peachtree: eBridge is an EDI management system for Peachtree that provides seamless integration allowing businesses to eliminate the need for manual data entry and to quickly achieve EDI compliance with their customers.

  • Multiware, Inc. – Multiware Toolkit for Peachtree 2005: Multiware Tools enable users to access Peachtree data from MS Access, MS Excel, and MS Word. The tools include programmable COM (Active-X) library.

  • Ascent Business Systems, Inc. – Automated Service For Peachtree: Automated Service for Peachtree is ideal for service and repair companies who want the ability to manage their service jobs and eliminate duplicate steps. The integration provides accurate and accessible customer service history, decreased administrative challenges, time to process service activity from initial service request to revenue collection, and the ability to retrieve equipment warranty information to support costly warranty issues

  • Builder MT – Production Scheduling and Wireless Workflow: Production Scheduling was created for the residential homebuilder, providing improved communication between the job site and the home office as well as between the job superintendent and the vendor.

  • Wizard Business Solutions, Inc. – Barcode Wizard: Barcode Wizard helps to promote accuracy in shipping and receiving departments by providing barcode scanning capabilities. Barcode Wizard gives users the flexibility to manage physical inventory in the warehouse and update Peachtree upon returning to their workstation.
