Construction Imaging's Chameleon software is a document management system for small- and medium-sized construction firms. It lets users search for documents based on criteria such as date, job or dollar amount.
By using what the vendor calls "electronic file cabinets" for functions such as human resources and accounts payable, contractors can shorten processes such as audits and invoice approvals. In addition, by routing documents to the appropriate department, firms can cut the costs associated with printing and mailing documents, the vendor said. Finally, Chameleon software lets users attach "electronic sticky notes" to documents; this, the vendor said, helps connect team members to discussions and comments.
