Revit Structure is designed to automate the modeling and drawing tasks of structural engineers and drafters; this, the vendor said, saves time and reduces the errors created by manual coordination.
Standard modeling objects include walls, beam systems, columns, slabs and foundations made of steel, cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete, masonry or wood. Designers can create additional structural objects as parametric components, the vendor said.
The latest edition, Revit Structure 2009, offers what the vendor described as the "seamless coordination" of data; since Revit Structure draws upon BIM software concepts, each view, drawing sheet and schedule is a direct representation of the same underlying database, according to Avatech.
